Mrs. Eula Lucille Savage Burns, 47, Spring Garden High School music teacher and moving spirit in church, social and civic affairs of her community, died Sunday, April 13, 1958, at the residence near Spring Garden after many months' illness.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. from Carmel Presbyterian Church with Rev. T. W. Buchanan officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, Owens Brown-Service in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Burns, Piedmont Rt. 1; two sons, Hugh Burns, Clinton, S.C. and Francis Burns, Piedmont; one brother, Robert Savage, Piedmont; and her mother, Mrs. R. H. Savage, Piedmont.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Treadaway, Paul Savage, William Savage, W. K. Little, Dewey Fagan and Fred Warren.
Mrs. Burns had taught in a number of schools in Piedmont and Cherokee County and was employed as music teacher at Spring Garden High School at the time of her death.
