Jean Kepner, 81, of West Lafayette, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus in West Lafayette.
She was born in Crown Point to Chester and Thelma Rouch Sausaman. On Oct. 16, 1949, she married William C. Kepner in Denver, Indiana. He died Jan. 24, 2007.
Surviving are three children, Michael Kepner (wife: Dianna) of Crawfordsville, Scott Kepner (wife: Terri) and Julie A. Kepner, both of West Lafayette and 2 grandchildren, Rachel Kepner of Terre Haute and James Kepner of West Lafayette.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Kepner in 1959 and 2 brothers, Joe and Richard Sausaman.
She was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico, Indiana. Jean married William C. Kepner on October 16, 1949 in Denver, Indiana; he died January 24, 2007.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church and the Mount Zion United Methodist Women in West Lafayette, and the Wabash Extension Homemakers Club.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Taking care of and being with her family, was her greatest joy in life. Jean enjoyed working in her flower garden, home decorating, reading, and eating out with her husband, Bill, and friends. She loved traveling with her husband in their travel trailer throughout the United States.
She was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, collecting money in her neighborhood.
