Joyce Biggs SLATON-Joyce Biggs, 83, of Lubbock, formerly of Slaton passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, in Englunds Chapel with Doug Hale officiating. Graveside services will follow in Englewood Cemetery, under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Joyce was born Oct. 2, 1932, to William Royale and Willie Mae (Sims) Saunders in Grassland, Garza County. She graduated from Southland High School in 1949. Joyce married Wayne Biggs on April 15, 1950, in Portales, NM. They lived in Slaton Kingsville, Hobbs, and moved to Lubbock in 1974. She was a member of the Vandelia Church of Christ Wayne preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Royce Biggs in 2002 and David Biggs in 1996.
