Marcel or (Mitchell) Cormier
Emma Cormier married Hugh Philip McGovern Oct 17 1908 in Andover, Ma.
Marie was baptized in St. Dunstons Basilica Roman Catholic Church in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
Her sponsors were Charles Riley and Ann Bouderault.
She spent her early childhood in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada, where her parents were married.
Records there have her name as Francoise Cormier. Her family immigrated to the USA in 1892. The 1900 census lists them as living in north Oxford, Ma.
Marie's father was probably working in P.E.I., at the time of her birth.
Many thanks to the City Hall at Charlottetown, for her baptism record, and trying to find her family's census.
Census, Birth, Marriage
and Death records from
New Brunswick, for Marie's family.
( Many thanks to Bill Scott of New Brunswick, for all the work he has put into this, we are very grateful to him.)
Many thanks, also, to Paul Cormier, who is a Cormier researcher in New Brunswick.
