Ervin Eugene Saulman

Ervin Eugene Saulman, 59, of College Pines Nursing Home, Valdese, NC died Friday, October 27, 2006 following a period of declining health.

Born in Burke County on March 26, 1947 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late Charlie Garfield Saulman and Lois Saulman Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlie Mae Saulman Smith.

Ervin was a longtime resident of Ellendale Group Home in Taylorsville, NC and was very active in the community. He attended Taylorsville Baptist Church. Ervin was a Special Olympics athlete.

Ervin is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Whisnant and husband, Richard, a brother, Charles Saulman and wife, Helen; and a brother-in-law, William Smith, all of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
