Mrs. Lena Markee, 87, Route 3, Gleason, Town of Schley, died on Monday, July 8, 1974 at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
The former Lena Saule was born on August 30, 1886 in Latvia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Saule. In 1923 she married John Markee in Chicago. He died on November 4, 1961.
Survivors include a son, Karl Markee, of La Grange, IL along with two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 9, 1974 at the Schram-Buettner Funeral Home in Merrill. The Rev. Wallace Schumann, the pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated and burial took place at the Lettish Cemetery in the Town of Schley.
