Services for Margaret Susan Buchanan Saufley, 66, of Stanford, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Stanford Christian Church by the Revs. Lee Warf, Richard Reed and Jim Baughman. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
She was owner operator of Blue Monday Antiques in Stanford for 25 years. She also taught school in Fort Knox and Cincinnati, and was a director of the Cecilian Bank in Elizabethtown. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she was a cheerleader and member of Delta-Delta-Delta Soroity, and a life member of the UK Alumni Association. She was a member of the Logan's Fort Foundation, Lincoln County Historical Society, Stanford Depot Restoration Committee, Stanford Garden Club, Stanford Women's Club and the Logan-Whitley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a Kentucky Colonel, chairman of the Lincoln County Heart Fund and a former director of the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.
Born September 2, 1939, in Louisville, she was a daughter of the late George B. and Reba Gardner Buchanan. She was a member of Stanford Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, George E. Saufley II of Stanford; and two brothers, David and Don Buchanan, both of Elizabethtown.
Pallbearers will be Scott Feipke, Steve, Michael and Jeff Buchanan, Brent and Brandon Warf and Drew Augustine. Visitation will be after noon Saturday. Memorials may go to Lt. Richard Caswell Saufley Scholarship Fund, c/o Blue Grass Community Foundation, 250 W. Main St., Lexington, KY 40507-1714, or the Jack Thomas House in Leitchfield. Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
