Church Point, La. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mrs. Jacques "Jack" Benoit, 90, the former Mary Leola Sattler. Mrs. Benoit, a native of Church Point and one-time resident of Sulphur, La., died at 9:45 A.M. Sunday, February 19 at her daughter's residence in Church Point. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include four sons: Terry Benoit and wife Diane of Warner-Robbins, Ga., John Foster Benoit and wife Verbie of Addis, La., Winston Benoit and wife Cathy of Sulphur and Steven Benoit and wife Carol of Livingston, La.; three daughters: Patsy Olivier, Janice Stewart and Jackie Cormier-all of Church Point; two brothers, Allen Jagneaux of Sulphur and Earl Jagneaux of Port Neches, Tex; two sisters, Bertrella Latiolais of Church Point and Frances Young of Eunice, La.; thirty grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacques "Jack" Benoit and two daughters, Ellen Prejean and Virginia Glass.
