Funeral services for Norma Rebecca Louise Satterwhite Bailey will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy C. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Frankie Johnson assisting. Interment will be Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Garland Cemetery in Dekalb, Texas.
Mrs. Bailey died Mary 22, 1998, in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 28, 1935, in the Garland Community, Dekalb, Texas, to the late John and Norma Satterwhite.
Reared in Dekalb, she moved to Ardmore in the late 1950s and was married to John Pete Bailey III of Ardmore. She graduated from Marvin Pynes High School and later completed her certification for NTMC Home Nursing Course which led to a career as a home care nursing technician.
She was a member of the H.F.V. Wilson Seniors Group and a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 38 years. Her proudest and greatest accomplishments were to be able to rear her children to adulthood and have them all graduate from Ardmore High School.
Survivors are her children, Larita Bailey of Ardmore, Cedric Bailey of Arlington, Texas, John Pete Bailey IV of Duncanville, Texas, Bobby Bailey of Ardmore, Barbara Owens of Denton, Texas, Carla Berryman of Ardmore, Alan Antwine of San Antonio, Texas, Christopher Antwine of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers, John Oliver Satterwhite of Dekalb, John W. Satterwhite of Lufkin, Texas; sisters, Mary Jones and Emma Ruth Beckham of Dekalb, and Rose Harmon of Texarkana, Texas, Nadine Cellum of Amona, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Posey, Gerald Fort, Joseph Williams, Damon Gardner and Johnny Landrum. Milton Cooper is honorary bearer.
Craddock Funeral Home will direct services.
