East Peoria, IL - Verna I. Black, 91, of 130 N. Main St. died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Washington Christian Village in Washington.
Born June 28, 1912, in Danville to Charles H. and Minnie Z. Grimes Satterlee, she married John L. Burt. She later married James Black.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (and Robert) Wentz of East Peoria and Constance Perron of Tremont; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild and two brothers.
She was a cashier at the Jefferson Hotel in Peoria and was a clerk at Suttcliff and Case on Main Street in Peoria.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
