Elvin "Cowboy" Satterla
Ann Arbor - Evin "Cowboy" Satterla, 79, of Whitmore Lake and formerly of Clinton, died May 2, 1997, at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1917, in Macon to the late Roy and Bretha (Creger) Satterla. He had lived his lifetime in the Clinton area where he was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church. He was employed for 37 years at the Tecumseh Products Company, retiring in 1981, and for many years "Cowboy" could be found at the Clinton Fire Department, where he spent his time keeping the fire trucks and the building spotless.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Dorothy Satterla of Clinton, one nephew, David and his wife Marquerite Berry of South Lyon and one niece, Karen Grinnell of Cadillac. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Frank Satterla, and one sister, Leona Berry.
Friends may call at the Couture-Ochalek Funeral Home in Clinton on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at the funeral home at 5 p.m. with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will take place on Monday at Macon Cemetery in Macon.
