Kathryn Bayless, 88, R.R.8, Greensburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 7:15 p.m. in her home.
Mrs. Bayless was born June 23, 1895, in Monroe Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of Ransom and Frances Eva Elliott Sarver. She was a teacher in Monroe Township schools from 1912 to 1927.
She was married to George W. Bayless March 18, 1922, in Jefferson County, and they moved to Decatur County in 1941, when her husband came here to farm on R.R.8. She was a member of the Kingston Presbyterian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1956, and she is survived by one son, George B. Bayless, R.R.8, Greensburg; one daughter, Mrs. Forest (Roberta) Denny, Indianapolis; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers as she was the last of her family.
The services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingston Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Lloyd Dunavant officiating, and with burial in the Monroe Cemetery in Madison. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and until 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, and after 11 a.m. until time of the service on Saturday at the Kingston Presbyterian Church.
