Anne Sargent was the elder daughter of George W. and F. Margaret (Mackinnon)Sargent.She was raised and educated in Lexington and graduated from Wellesley High School. She also graduated from the former Miss Fay's Secretarial School in Boston. Anne was employed as a secretary for the Hartford Insurance Co. for many years, prior to her employment as an office manager and secretary for the Volkswagen Corporation in Wilmington for many years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Reading,Mass. where she was the secretary for 25 years for all the church's meetings. She was a member of the church's Choir for 50 years and the Church bell ringers. She was also a member of the Woman's Club of Reading.
Surviving her are her sister Georgia W. Briggs and her husband Richard G. of Beverly; two nephews, Ronald S. Briggs and his wife, Pamela and Randall G. Briggs and his wife Nancy, all of Ipswich.
A Memorial service was held at the Second Congregational Church in North Beverly on THurs. Aug 16. Graveside services were held at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading, on Friday Aug 17, 2007.
