Hannah's Great Grandparents {Quakers} (Robert & Anne Murfin) came to America from Eaton, Nottinghamshire England in Aug. 1678 on the ship "The Shield". They arrived on Dec. 10, 1678 in Burlington, New Jersey. The land on which Robert Murfin settled with his family, was at Crosswicks....

Hannah is shown as a plump matronly woman from a silhouette done by her son Joseph when she was in her fifties. Hannah herself mentions she was permanently scarred by smallpox in 1758.
