Lillie S. Elliott, 95, the daughter of Harmon and Gertie (Kohl) Sankey, was born March 10, 1904, on a farm near Hardy. She died April 12, at the Superior Good Samaritan Center.
In 1909 she moved with her parents to Republic, where she attended grade and high school, graduating from Republic High School in 1921. She was a school teacher at the Morehead and Pine rural schools near Republic for five years and the taught seventh and eighth grades for two years in the Republic School. She married Everrett J. Elliott on July 28, 1927. To this union one son, Richard, was born. They made their home in Republic until moving to Superior in 1941. In 1952, they moved to southern California where the resided until her husband died in 1982. In 1983 she returned to Superior to be near her son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister.
She was survived by her son, Richard J. Elliott, Superior, one sister, one brother, one granddaughter; two grandsons and three great-granddaughters.
Graveside services were held Friday at the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.
Internment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements.
