Betty Evans, 75, of Dalton, GA, died Saturday morning, January 29, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Evans was born on Aug. 27, 1935 in White County, GA. Betty enjoyed gardening, styling hair and being at home with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Grace Sanford; a brother, Raymond Yancey; and a sister, Billie Kinsey.
Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Barron H. Evans; sons and daughter-in-law, Barry and Cherry Evans of Dalton, GA abd Steve Evans of Dalton, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Farris Haynes of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy and Lacy Evans and Tyler Evans; great-grandchildren, Caeli and Sophia Grace Evans; a brother-in-law, Richard Kinsey of Resaca; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Evans will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Ridley officiating.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton, GA. Barry Evans, Steve Evans, Jeremy Evans, Tyler Evans, Timothy Douglas and Brad Kinsey will serve as pallbearers.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cherokee Valley Baptist Church.
