Merenciano was born on May 4, 1922 in North San Isidro, NM, to the late Pablo Sandoval and Magdalena Coca-Sandoval.
Merenciano served in the United States Army during World War II.
Merenciano loved fishing, hunting and playing the guitar. Merenciano was a member of La Morada de Jesús Esquipula. A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Merenciano was preceded in death by his wife, Eufemia Sandoval, daughters, Nora Tafoya, Eleonila Sandoval and Mary Ruth García, grandson, Andrew Tafoya, great-granddaughters, Eternity Mondragón and Destiny Mondragón, brothers, Conception Gonzáles, Lazaro Sandoval, Rosendo Sandoval, Jacobo Sandoval and Cayetano Sandoval.
Merenciano is survived by his daughter, María Alicia Sandoval and her husband, Armando Chacón of San Pablo, NM, very special niece, Victoria Pérez, sister, Mercedes Delgado of North San Isidro, NM, grandchildren, Steven Tafoya and his wife, Carrie of Palm Springs, CA, Bernice Haro and her husband, Ron of Parker Heights, TX, Roberto Hernández and his wife, Penny of Henderson, NV, Javier Hernández of Henderson, NV, Nadine Mondragón and her husband, Jeffrey of Denver, CO, Richard García Jr and his wife, Martha of Dillon, CO, Clarence López and his wife, Heidi of Ojo Sarco, NM, Erica López and her husband, Rick of Albuquerque, NM and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Rosary services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Morada de Jesús Esquipula in San Isidro, NM and on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Robert Hernández, Javier Hernández, Steven Tafoya, Clarence López, Richard García Jr. and Paul Sandoval. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be Bernice Haro, Erica López, Nadine Mondragón, Antonio Hernández, Niko Barlion, Michael Hernández and Paul Mondragón.
