Ms. Dorothy Sandifer Martin, 68, of 992 Dickinson St., Bamberg, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at First Baptist Church in Bamberg, with the Rev. David Pohto and the Rev. Odell Breland officiating. Burial will be in the South End Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Ms. Martin was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Bamberg County, a daughter of the late Lula Bunch Sandifer and the late Heyward Sandifer Sr. She was retired from a manufacturing company. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg. She was married to the late Clarence Martin.
Survivors include three sisters, Louise Price and Mary Hayes both of Bamberg, and Shirley Cook of Atlanta; three brothers, Buddy Sandifer and Paul Sandifer, both of Bamberg, and Johnny Sandifer of Darlington; two stepsons, Will Martin of Bamberg and Wayne Martin of Orangeburg; 16 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Cooner Funeral Home of Bamberg. The family will receive friends at the home of Buddy and Claudia Sandifer, 992 Dickinson St., Bamberg.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Bamberg.
