Betty Jean Sanders Graves returned home to a loving Heavenly Father on July 30, 2007. She was residing at Mi Casa Nursing Center in Mesa.

Betty was born March 10, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Edward and Mabel Leona Burk Sanders. She was reared and educated in Des Moines. She married William Edward Graves on April 3, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. She moved with her family to South Ogden in October 1959.

Betty was a lifelong homemaker and found her greatest joy in raising her family and in serving others. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed needle work and quilt tying. She exemplified love, compassion and sacrifice to anyone who was privileged to know her.

Surviving Betty are her five children, Edward W. (Rene') Graves, South Ogden; Carolyn (Kent) Walton, Mesa, Arizona; John R. (Janie) Graves, Chesterfield, Missouri; Barbara Graves, Orem; and Richard (Pat) Graves, Ogden; eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and husband.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family expresses thanks and appreciation to Village Oaks Assisted Living in Mesa, Arizona for the kind and dignified care rendered to Betty for the past two years. We love you, Mom.

What a pretty lady. Betty's great-grandfather James M. Sanders and my great-great-grandmother Stacy Ann Sanders Davis were brother and sister. Rest in peace Betty.
