MURRAY, Ky.--Ophelia Black, 79, of Murray died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital Long-Term Care.

Mrs. Black, a native of Calloway County, was a retired nurse's aide at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. She was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Patterson of Jackson, Miss., and Betty Gream of Farmington; one son, Larry Black of Murray; two sisters, Pansy Black of Farmington and Faira Weaver of Detroit; one brother, Willis Sanders of Murray; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilson Black; one daughter, Glenda Darnell; and one granddaughter. Her parents were Raymond Sanders and Lettie Hargrove Sanders.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bazzell Cemetery with the Rev. Carvis Black officiating. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital Long-Term Care's Relay for Life Fund, in care of Valerie Morris, captain, 803 Poplar St., Murray, KY 42071.
