ANGOLA - Herbert Paul Sanders, 81, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at his home in Angola as a result of a house fire.

He was retired but had owned and operated the Angola Sawmill and also worked at Northwest Materials in Angola for several years.

Mr. Sanders was a member of the Angola Christian Church and the Land of Lakes Lions Club.

He was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Pleasant Lake to Mark and Esther (Lemmon) Sanders. He married Nancy A. Pence on Jan. 19, 1951. She survives in Angola.

Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald P. and Karen S. Sanders of Angola, Douglas P. and Susan Sanders of Angola and Jerry H. and Debra Sanders of Fort Myers, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Virgene Sanders of Angola; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gregory A. Sanders in 2008; and a sister, Barbara Hutmacher.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Weicht Funeral Home in Angola. Burial will be in Circle Hill Cenetery, Angola. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are to the Steuben County 4-H Club or the Land of Lakes Lions Club.
