Services for Mrs. Ella Drew Sanders, 82, Athens are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Foster and Brown Funeral Home in Athens, with the Reb. Bill McNatt officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens. Mrs. Sanders died at her home after a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 6, 1906, and lived most of her life in Henderson County. She was a member of the Athens Rebekah Lodge No. 23, Central Baptist Chruch in Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Sanders, Sr. in 1966 and two daughters, Gladys Hanks and Jim Bob Sanders. (Note: She was preceded by her first husband, William Clinton Hawkins in 1929) Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Shirley Sanders of Athens and Perry and Francie Sanders of Baytown; three daughters, Ruby Fuller, Thelma Trammell and Mary Frances Murphree all of Athens; two brothers, James E. Drew of Corsicana and Robert Drew of LaRue; two sisters, Clara Evans, Athens and Effie Torres, Arlington; a brother-in-law, E.J. Little, Athens; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Allen, Joe A. Trammell, Jr., Anthony Hanks, Kenny Bergmann, Dennis Trammell and Benny Cartlidge.
