WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Katie Burdine, 99, will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, in the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, with grandsons, Rev. Larry Arnold and Rev. Keith Hough, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. The family will accept friends from 7 -8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at the family home, 212 Center St., Whitesboro.

She passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 in Sherman.

Katie was born on June 7, 1914 to John Hughes and Margaret Angeline (Beam) Sanders. She married Alfred Eloy Burdine on March 19, 1940 in Hollis, Okla. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Texas for 65 years. She enjoyed her grandkids and great-grandchildren and her entire family. She loved to cook and to garden. She was the owner of the Frosty Cream, in Whitesboro, for many years. She enjoyed serving her customers and baking her famous chocolate cookies and pies.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Belle Arnold and husband, Don, of Whitesboro, Eloise June Hough and husband, Billy Mack, of Whitesboro, and Judy Lajuan Flowers and husband, Ronnie, of Whitesboro; son, Stephens Kayde Burdine and wife, Diane, of Tom Bean; grandchildren: Dwane Arnold and wife, Debra; Larry Arnold and wife, Paula; Keith Hough and wife, Michelle; Rodney Hough and wife, Jodi; Eric Hough and wife, Shelly; Becky Daniels and husband, David; Christi Armentrout; Stephanie Hancock; Rob Flowers and wife, Lydia; Lisa Sterling and husband, Kevin; and Angela Cryer and husband, Eric; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Sanders; and her husband, Eloy Burdine; as well as four brothers: Jim Sanders, Bill Sanders, Lee Sanders, and Clifford Sanders; and three sisters: Zella Collins, Ivan Tolleson, and Annie Hall.

Pallbearers will be Dwane Arnold, Rodney Hough, Eric Hough, Rob Flowers, Eric Cryer, Kevin Sterling, Caleb Hough, and Adam Flowers.
