He is preceded in death by his parents: Esquipula and Aurelia Sanchez (Chama) and Brothers William Sanchez (Maggie), Ben Sanchez, Ray Sanchez (Percilla), Jesusito, and Joe Sanchez (Cheyenne, WY) and sisters Ruth Ley (Fritz) and Bertha Madrid (Dan). He was a veteran of WWII and retired from the CF&I in Pueblo, CO. He has 13 grandchildren.
