Mrs. Thomas Samuels Dies During Night
Mrs. Thomas Samuels, a resident of Rensselaer for many years, passed away in her sleep last night. She had been in ill health for a number of months.
During the past fifteen months Mrs. Samuels made her home with Mrs. Grace Lane at 614 N. Cullen street.
She had been subject to a hear complication and her death is presumed to have resulted from a heart attack.
Mrs. Samuels was preceded in death by her husband, who managed a grain exchange in Rensselaer for a period of several years.
Included among her survivors is a son, Elwood Samuels, who lives in Gary. The obituary will not be available until tomorrow's edition.
The funeral arrangements are pending.

Rites For Mrs. Samuel At Remington Thursday Morning
The funeral services for Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Samuel of Rensselaer, who passed away as she slept Tuesday night, will be held from Sacred Heart Catholic church in Remington at 9 a.m. (Rensselaer time) Thursday morning with the Rev. Fr. Schroder conducting the rites. Interment will be in Sacred Heart cemetery northwest of Remigton. Friends are now being received at Howard Chapel in Remington.
Mrs. Samuel had been in ill health for two years. During the past fifteen months she made her home with Mrs. Grace Lane at the N. Cullen street address. It is presumed she died of a hear attack, since she had been subject to heart complications for some time.
Mrs. Samuel was born in Remington, and attended the Remington schools. Her marriage to Thomas Samuel took place in Remington. Mr. Samuel passed away in 1945.
Mrs. Samuel had lived in Rensselaer for many years, coming here at the time her late husband became manager of a local grain exchange.
She was a member of Sacred Heart church of Remington.
The only immediate survivors are a son, Elwood Samuel, of Gary, and three grandchildren.
