It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Beverly Chivari, on Monday, March 22, 2010, at home, surrounded by her family.
Born in L'Ardoise, N.S., she was the daughter of Mrs. Annie Sampson, L'Ardoise, and the late Charlie Stan Sampson.
Beverly was employed for 30 years with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (accounting department).
She is survived by her husband, Joseph ‘Sonny' Chivari; her son, Brad; sisters, Valerie (Harry) Sampson, Eleanor Samson; brothers, Gerry (Nancy) and Earl (Brenda); brother-in-law, Cyril Sampson; special aunts, Mary ‘Minnie' Gracie and Edna Sampson; uncle Edwin, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her father, Beverly was predeceased by her sister, Irene.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier, with Fr. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre expansion (call 1-877-767-7752) or charity of choice.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the palliative care, the VON, the Red Cross, Cape Breton Care Givers, especially Dorothy and Barb, and the doctors and staff at the cancer centre of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital
