Jessie V. Phillips

Jessie V. Phillips, 63, of Cavern Fork, Ravenswood, went home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2005.

She was born on July 7, 1941, in Lubeck, a daughter of the late Cyrus V. and Frances E. Buchanan Sampson of Rockport. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid homemaker and loved quilting, camping and fishing. She was a member of the Ford Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a kidney dialysis patient of 22 years at St. Joseph.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Averal Phillips; two sons, Randy Phillips and his wife, Bonnie, of Rockport and Ronnie Phillips and his wife, Cindy, of Cavern Fork, Ravenswood; two daughters, Sherri Benson and her husband, Mike, of Ripley and Sonja Casto and her husband, Wm. Mark, of Ripley; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Sampson, her twin, of Petroleum and Roy Sampson of Rockport; two sisters, Vida Phillips and Ruth Thompson, both of Rockport; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brian Phillips and Andrea Benson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Revs. Bob Riffle, Paul Morrison and Clyde Border officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
