Our beloved wife and mother, Dorothy L. Samora, 75, was peacefully called home Dec. 7, 2008, by Our Heavenly Father at her home in Aztec. Dorothy was born Jan. 24, 1933, in Columbus, Ga.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Kate White and Charles Dudley McFarlin; her paternal and maternal grandparents; sister, Mable Givens; brother, Charles McFarlin; by her infant daughter, Katie Lucille; and by grandson, Jeremy Bird.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ben D. Samora Sr.; sons, Ben Samora Jr. and wife, Toni, Joseph Samora and wife, Kim, and Charles Timothy Samora and wife, Stephannie; daughters, Katherine Faye Milazzo, Anna Marie Kerr, and Teresa Suzanne Padilla and husband, David; and brother, Frank Vigil and wife, Ann. Dorothy also is survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy married Ben Samora on Feb. 1, 1950, in Cusseta, Ga. They moved to New Mexico in 1960. Dorothy enjoyed acrylic painting, watching game shows and spending time with her family. Dorothy worked for Good Samaritan Nursing Home for several years. She was a loving wife and mother and will always and forever be in our hearts.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 500 N. Mesa Verde Ave., in Aztec.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Pudeta as Celebrant. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St., in Farmington.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, John Livingston, David Sharp, Christopher Padilla, Timothy Samora Jr., Jordan Bird and Nicholas Padilla.

Honorary pallbearers are her brother, Frank Vigil and all of her grandchildren.
