She was born December 7, 1923 in Tyler, Minn, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Raine) Salzman. She graduated from Lake Benton High School and then from the School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis.
After finishing beauty school, she moved to Red Wing in 1942 and married Leland Anderson on November 9, 1946 in Red Wing. For 8 ½ years, she worked at June's Beauty Shop. Leland died in September of 1988.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was active in the Quilters Group. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery work, gardening and she loved cooking and baking.
Survivors include two daughters: Kathryn (Chuck) Hunter of Pacifica, Calif and Nancy Anderson of Minneapolis; one brother, Gene (Lorraine) Salzman of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sisters: June (George) Mann of Luverne, Minn and Faye Meyer of Lake Benton, Minn; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Memorial service will be 1 p. m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p. m. Wednesday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church or the American Heart Association.
