JOHN EDWARD SAYLER
---John Edward Salyer, eighty-one, a former resident of the La Plata vicinity, died late Sunday night at the Masonic Home in St. Louis where he had lived since July, 1958.
---Born March 13, 1880 at Shelbyville, Illinois, he was the son of George W. and Mary Alice (Busby) Salyer. He moved with his parents to Missouri at the age of four years.
---He was never married.
---Mr. Salyer was a retired school teacher, having taught in Macon and adjoining counties. He was a member of the La Plata Christian Church and the La Plata Masonic Lodge.
---Surviving are one brother, W.S. Salyer of Macon and several cousins.
---Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the La Plata Christian Church with Rev. Bryan Adair of Atlanta officiating. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
---Christie Funeral Services was in charge.
