Frances enjoyed looking for the next treasure at rummage sales, playing bingo at Sacred Heart, and crocheting. She had worked at Standard Colsman and at King Industries as a seamstress.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald Bartels Jr., George Bartels, Leonard Bartels all of Pensacola, FL; daughters, DiAnne (Daniel) Lang of Oshkosh, Shryl Bartels of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Leonard Sales of Okeechobee, FL, Ivy Sales of Tampa, FL, David Hubert Sales of Tampa, FL; sister, Doris (Norvin) Bauer of Red Level, AL; grandchildren, Christopher (Angie Schmackle) Lang of Oshkosh, 2nd Lt. Amy Lang of Colorado Springs, CO, Nathan Lang of Oshkosh; Sgt. Bryan Bartels of Fayetteville, NC, Nicole and Corey Bartels both of Pensacola, FL; great grandson, Austin Schmackle of Oshkosh; and sister-in-law, Donna (Ron) Deising of Oshkosh. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; infant daughter, Lynn Marie Bartels; brothers, James, Thomas, and Lamar Sales; and sister, Elizabeth Alford.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Bethel Home Chapel (225 N Eagle St) with the Rev. Cathy Vander Velden officiating. Family and friends may visit at the chapel on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Inurnment will be in the Union Hill Cemetery, Pensacola, FL
