Irene S. Drew of Saginaw, Michigan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare Harrison. Age 73 years. The daughter of the late Elidorio and Helen (Lovato) Saldana, Irene was born February 6, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married the love of her life, James J. Drew, on July 7, 1970. He went home on April 21, 2008 and has been awaiting her arrival since. Irene retired from General Motors Corporation after many years of service. She was a member of Ss. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, but was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she also attended elementary school. Irene immensely enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She loved to shop and always thought of others before herself.

Surviving are one son, one daughter and their spouses, Daniel and Margaret Barron, Saginaw; Margaret Sanchez and her companion Walt Graebner, Saginaw; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Alesia Peters Sullivan; two sisters and one brother, Celia Castillo, Angeline and Raul Perez, David and Chris Saldana; many nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by a son, Alfredo Barron, a daughter, Lydia Peters, an infant son, Daniel Barron, and by two grandsons, Ronald Sanchez Jr. and Oscar Olivarez Jr.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, O.S.F.S. will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
