Manuela S. Gallegos, age 82, began her first day in heaven on June 22, 2010. She was born June 27, 1927 in Santiago Papasquiro, Durango, Mexico to Sefrino and Guadalupe (Meraze) Salazar.
She has resided in Alamogordo for approximately fifty years. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Guadalupanas. Manuela was passionate about family and friends. Her hobbies include crocheting, gardening and cooking the finest Mexican food north of the border. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary L. Hall of Plano, TX and Teresa A. Pace of Lynn, MA; five grandchildren, Monica Grambush, Jennifer Ohlson, Anthony Pace, David Pace and Nicholas Pace; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Jake, Dexter, Reagan and Lily and two sisters, Anita Sedillo and Aguistina Valles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio and two sons, Joe and David Gallegos.
Pallbearers will be Anthony N. Pace, David K. Pace, Nicholas Pace, III, Gustavo Flores, Alejandro Flores and Felipe Reyes.
The family will greet friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 with the Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel by Deacon Don Dickman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be Celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Bryant Hausfeld, O.F.M. Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
