LINDA MERYLENE SAILORS ARNOLD
DOTHAN. . .Linda Merylene Sailors Arnold, a resident of Dothan, died early Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2009, in a Dothan hospital. She was 62.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, April 10, 2009, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Murray Kelley and Reverend John Addesa officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Dothan and Headland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and also from 10:00 until 11:00 A. M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 3100 Hickory Hill Drive, Dothan, on Thursday and Friday. Flowers will be accepted.

Ms. Arnold was a native of Athens, Georgia but lived in Bainbridge, Georgia as a child. She moved to Dothan in 1957 and was a 1964 graduate of Dothan High School where she has been a class reunion committee member. Ms. Arnold also attended Wallace Community College where she received a nursing certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was president of the L.P.N. Association Dothan Chapter 8. Mrs. Arnold was retired, due to medical disability, from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center as a Pharmacy Technician in the hospital pharmacy. In earlier years, Ms. Arnold was employed by the hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by the Southeast Alabama Medical Center for a total of forty-one years. Ms. Arnold was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Dothan and was a member of the Pilot Club of Dothan where she currently serves as vice-president.

Surviving relatives include three sisters, Elaine Tarver and husband, Johnny Tarver, Dothan; Barbara Braswell and husband, Buddy Braswell, Cowarts; Debra Sailors, Encino, CA; two brothers, Stanley Sailors and wife, Marie Sailors, Cowarts; Jimmy Sailors, Dothan; two uncles, Daniel Sailors and wife, Dot Sailors; Oles Sorrow and wife, Mary Sorrow, all of Nicholson, GA; a niece, Susan Sailors, four nephews, Mike Braswell, Lee Braswell, Dennis Tarver and David Tarver; four great-nieces.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Mike Braswell, Lee Braswell, Philip Atkinson, Jeff Arnold, Carl Greene and Jerry Tadlock.
