Born in New Millport the son of RWA and Pearl Sahm, Russell Sahm was raised in Mahaffey, PA, just outside of Clearfield. He graduated both Clearfield High School and Gettysburg College, the alma mater of his paternal grandfather and his great grandfather. He married Alice Bridge in New York City. He was survived by one son, Russell, Jr, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Sahm was a dedicated Railroad Civil Engineer for the New York Central Railroad. Upon retirement, he went to work for the Pennsylvania Railroad. A lifelong Christian, Mr. Sahm was a Deacon of the famous Old Dutch Reformed Church of Sleepy Hollow, New York, and a ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church of Baytown, Texas.
