REGINA M. (NOVAK) SVACINA

Regina M. Svacina, age 83, of North Ridge Care Center, died Saturday, March 26,
1994, at the Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Funeral Serviuces (sic) will be held Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at 10:30 a.m. at
St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville. Father Nicholas Johannes will officiate
with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born September 7, 1910, in Reedsville, daughter of the late Anton and
Barbara Jerebek Novak. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Reedsville
and the Reedsville High School. She married Raymond J. Svacina April 19, 1928,
at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville. They owned and operated Svacina's
Tavern in Grimm's until Ray's death, January 23, 1972. She moved to Reedsville
Manor in 1980 and lived there until going into the nursing home in May of 1990.
She also worked as a baker at the Branch River Country Club for many years. She
was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville, and an honorary member
of the Christian Women's Society, a past member of the Reedsville Senior Citizens,
past volunteer for the RSVP program in Manitowoc and served as a representative
on their council.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Duane Benter, Reedsville;
four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald, Manitowoc, Paul and Diane, Kilgore, Texas,
James and Mary, Grimms, John and Vicki, Manitowoc, Adeline, Two Rivers; 12
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters-in-law,
Paul and Stella Novak, Milwaukee, George and Josephine Novak, Manitowoc, Ervin
Novak, Milwaukee, Tony Novak, Manitowoc; four sisters and three brothers-in-law,
Mary Tisler, Reedsville, Blanche and Jerome Scanlon, Green Bay, Millie and Joe
Wisner, Kellnersville, Betty Jane and Frank Badzinski, Milwaukee; other relatives
and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth, one
grandson, Mark, one brother, Edward, one sister-in-law, Helen Novak, and one brother-
in-law, Lester Tisler.
Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville, from 4-8 p.m. TODAY, and
on Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville, from 9 a.m. until the time
of service. A parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, led by Deacon Donald
Schneider. A Rosary by the St. Anne Altar Society will be 7:30 p.m.
Regina will always be remembered as a hard working, loving and caring mother and
grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family. The family would like to
thank North Ridge Care Center for their help and concern during her illness.
