Rosalie Ryan Mueggler, 81, passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2015, in Logan.

Rosalie was born in Houston, TX, on April 18, 1934, to William Morris Ryan and Rosalie Biggio Ryan. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Walter Frank Mueggler, whom she married in Houston in 1958.

Rosalie graduated first in her class at Loretto Heights College in Denver in 1957, with a BA in English; she earned an MA in English as a Second Language at Utah State University in 1981. She taught philosophy at Montana State University and English as a Second Language at Utah State University, where she also served as a foreign exchange advisor.

Rosalie and Walter raised their six children in Bozeman, MT, and Logan. She is survived by her brother Mark Ryan (Ginger Clarkson) of Houston, TX, and five children: Rosie Erni (Konrad) of Logan, Michelle Mueggler (Ed Stege) of Leadville, CO, Erik Mueggler of Ann Arbor, MI, Angela Gutermuth (Brandt) of Weaverville, CA, and Laura McCabe of Mazama, WA., and also by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Karl Mueggler and her son-in-law Sean McCabe.

Rosalie was a loving mother with an open, vibrant, intelligent personality and a love of travel and the outdoors. She was a devoted Catholic and an active member of Cache Valley's Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, which recognized her as Catholic Woman of the Year in 1981.

A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Allen Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 North, North Logan, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass on Monday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 725 S, 250 East, Hyde Park, UT.

The family offers heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Logan Legacy House and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rosalie may be made to Intermountain Hospice, 550 E. 1400 North, Suite G, Logan, UT 84341
