Ruby May Black, 90, of Sterling, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Coventry Living Center.

Born May 5, 1923 in Sterling she was a daughter of Lloyd J. and Bertha M. (Sell) Ryan. On August 14, 1963 she married Donald A. Black in Morrison. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1997. Ruby was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Sterling. Ruby worked for Frantz Manufacturing for 20 years until her retirement.

Surviving are her daughter, Lou Holder; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a son James Lyle Scott, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a son in law.

Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Wednesday, July 3 followed by services at 11 AM at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls with Pastor Leo Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the American Legion Scholarship Fund.
