No info other than cemetery database and some anecdotal.
Elizabeth Clemo b 18 Jul 1849 in Redruth, Cornwall, England, dtr of Elizabeth Terrill and William Clemo both of Redruth. William had died or divorced before the Terrill-Clemo's emigration to the United States.
Mother Elizabeth's sister Mary was married to Stephen Bawden, president of Sawanee Mining Co., mfg of mining equipment. They emigrated to Cuba for 9 years, then to Norristown, Montgomery, PA in the coal-mining area, back to England, then to Rockingham Township, Scott, IA probably because of the tremendous coal-mining area in that part of the city. There were 60,000 TONS mined in 1860 and in 10 years that number would quadruple for trains, steamships, and factories.
Elizabeth Clemo and dtr Elizabeth were a part of Stephen and Mary's household (census) in PA and IA. (no ship log info-no date of passage).
James, born in OH (no town, Oakdale database), married Elizabeth Clemo in Davenport 28 Jun 1866. They lived in St. Paul, Ramsey, MN where Jas was a wholesale grocer. Mom Elizabeth Terrill Clemo lived with them and stayed until 1896 when she came back to Davenport and lived with dtr on 6 Walling Ct. - now renumbered 1900 North.
James died 9 Feb 1885 in St. Paul of "brain fever"/cholera. James and Elizabeth had 1 son Harry Clemo 18 Jan 1868 in Davenport.
James was interred on the Ryan lot in Oakdale on 12 Apr 1885 (probably because of the winter weather - put in vault).
