Last Rites Set For Mrs. Ryan
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora May Ryan, 59, widow of Arthur Ryan, who
died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday [July 27, 1942] at her home, rear 341 Arthur
Street, Walnut Grove, will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon
at the home by Rev. J. A. Robinson, pastor of the Walnut Grove Church of the
Brethren. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Fred
G. Geisel, Dale mortician.
Mrs. Ryan had been in ill health for the last year and had been bedfast
for seven weeks. The deceased was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of
the Brethren and Flood City Auxiliary 24, United Spanish War Veterans.
Members of the auxiliary will hold memorial services at the home this
evening at 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Ryan was born on December 9, 1882, in Cherry Tree, a daughter of
William and Maria (Miller) Chase. Her husband died in January 1938.
Surviving are seven children - Martha, wife of Robert Graham, rear 341
Arthur Street; Leroy Ryan, Robinson; Margaret, wife of Robert Martin,
Johnstown R.D. 2; James Ryan, Johnstown R.D. 2; Ada, wife of Henry Jones,
Woodvale Avenue; Pfc. Arthur Ryan Jr., Fort Myer, Va.and Frank Ryan, at home

She also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Blair Beers [Ada Belle] and Mrs. Torence Freeman, both of Coalport; L.R. Chase, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. John Mowery, Conemaugh; Frank Chase, Johnstown; Miss Myra Chase, Woodvale Avenue; and Preston Chase, Franklin Street. [7/27 handwritten across obit]
