Local Rug Weaver Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Edna Florence Russell, a well-known rug weaver in this community, died at her home northwest of Danville, Tuesday morning. Mrs. Russell was 79 years of age and was born in Woodlawn, Va. She came to this community in 1903. Mrs. Russell was married in 1900 to Rufus Russell who survives.
Mrs. Russell has been in failing health for several years but had continued with her rug weaving until about a week ago. She was a member of the Bartlett Chapel Methodist Church and of the Forget-Me-Not Club.
Survivors besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Ora Pickett, New Castle, and a son, Robey, of Danville. She is also survived by two brothers, Edward and Will Montgomery, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Williams, of Washington, D. C., and another brother, Bert Montgomery, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Phillips, of California.
Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at the Baker Funeral Home at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. John Paul Jones. Burial will be at Lizton.
