Harold C. Russell, 85, 6949 SE Kiwi Lane, Riverton, Kan., died at 6:36p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, Mo. after an illness.

Mr. Russell was born Feb. 23, 1912 at Joplin, Mo. He had been a lifetime area resident.

He worked around the area as an electrician through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #95, Joplin, MO.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Baxter Springs, Kan.

Harold was married to Nellie C. Archer, Aug. 24, 1935 at Joplin, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving is one son, Harold R. Russell, Joplin; two daughters, Barbara Nelle Cope, Carl Junction, Mo., and Carolyn Sue Price, Riverton, Kan.; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rolland "Rod" Russell, Orville "Bussy" Russell, and Marvin Russell; and one sister, Lavone Hampton.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kan. Rev. Dave Robinson officiated.

Burial was in Hill crest Cemetery, Galena, Kan.

Pallbearers were Russell Weiss, Nick Weiss, David Price, Stephen Russell. Larry North and Jack Gardner.
