He was born Dec. 2, 1914 to Thomas and Hallie (Mason) Runnells and was married to Margaret Campbell in 1934, who survives him in death. He had been a Canaan Community farmer. Mr. Runnells was also a member of the Coatesville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Wayne Runnells and Paul Runnells, both of Greencastle and Glen Runnells of Coatesville; daughters, Wanda Glaze of Coatesville, Juanita Kenworthy of Danville, Beverly Sinclair of Plainfield and Mavis Broadstreet of Coatesville; sisters, Floy DeSpain of Prestwick and Ruth Pritchett of Danville; aunt, Merle Smythe of Fillmore; uncle, Jim Mason of Fillmore; 34 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Oneita Davidson; a son, Ray Runnells; brother, Norman Runnells, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Wingler Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville with burial in Coatesville Cemetery.
