Mrs. Malissa Myers, 78, widow of the late William H. Myers and a lifelong resident of Peru, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday at the residence of Fred Myers, of 379 E. Sixth.
Death was due to complications resulting from a broken hip suffered May 1.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the First Christian church.
She was born Mar. 5, 1872 in Marshall county, a daughter of Manuel and Catherine (Mower) Runnells.
She married William H. Myers June 6, 1895. He preceded her in death in November, 1932.
Survivors are five sons, Fred of Peru, Truman V. of Coral Gables, Fla., Raymond H. of Oak Park, Ill.; W.R. of Route 1, Peru, Harold A.of Chili, four daughters, Mrs. Everett Wood of Chili, Mrs. Oscar Shaffer, of Rural Route, Macy; Mrs. William G. Bowman and Mrs. Charles Kitsmiller of Peru and nine grandchildren.
One sister preceded her in death.
The body is at the Eikenberry funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the funeral home, the Rev. Lee Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in the Eel River cemetery.
