from the Republican for Oct. 4, 1906:

Nancy Jane Boaz, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Boaz, was born in Bath County, Kentucky, Jan. 16, 1845. She departed this life Sept. 25, 1906, at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 9 days. Early in life she accepted Jesus as her Savior and united with the Christian church at Owingsville, Ky. but as she moved from place to place she in turn was connected with the Presbyterian and Methodist Protestant churches. She ever lived a true and devoted Christian life. Dec. 27, 1870, she was united in marriage to Renny Runnells. To this union were born six sons and two daughters, seven of whom are still living, one dying in infancy. With the husband, the children living are William A., Lee A., Thomas A., Mrs. Alice Walton, Mrs. Parks of Hendricks County, David M. and Renny Roy of Whittier, Cal. There are also four sisters and two brothers. Three years after their marriage, they moved to Hendricks County and have since lived in Hendricks and Putnam Counties. On account of sickness and misfotune their lot in life for many years was a hard one but the Lord blessed them and they slowly thrived and prospered until they have raised their large family and had a comfortable home. She was a kind, dutiful wife and a loving, patient and self-sacrificing mother, ever having the welfare of her family at heart. She never had an opportunity to secure much education but was shrewd and far-seeing, never hesitatng in pointing to her children the results of evil conduct. The children received instructions and council from her that have ever greatly helped them to meet and solve the problems of life. Mother's place in the home is vacant and her loving council will never more be heard for God in his infinite glory has seen fit to call one of His servants home to her reward.
