Hazel May Fullmer, 88, of Floris, Iowa, formerly of the Brashear and Kirksville communities, passed away Thursday morning, May 29, 2003 at her daughter's home where she had been residing for the past four years.
Born Sept. 7, 1914 in Wheatland, Wyo., Hazel was the daughter of George Henry Mason and Mary Catherine Wallace. On August 24, 1934, Hazel was united in marriage to Cleetis Rummerfield and to this union nine children were born. Cleetis preceded Hazel in death on October 4, 1978. On July 12, 1983 she married John "Les" Fullmer who preceded Hazel in death on January 13, 1999.
Her parents, one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rummerfield in infancy; three sons, Albert Holla Rummerfield in infancy and Doren and Arzy Rummerfield and one brother, Albert Mason also preceded Hazel in death.
Hazel is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Douglas and Vickie Rummerfield of Kirks ville, MO; four daughters and three sons-in-law; Frances and Larry Fox of Kirksville, MO, Donna and Richard Puffinbarger of Floris, Iowa, Doris Smith of Princeton, Iowa, and Dorothy and Mike Fullmer of LeClaire, Iowa, and one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby aqnd Dean Potter of Kirksville, MO. Twenty-six grandchildren, forty nine great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Hazel.
Mrs. Fullmer was a past member of the Four Squares Calvary Chapel in LeClaire, Iowa and until her health failed had attended ElBethel Church in Floris.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville w2ith her nephew, Reverend Carl Begley and her grandson, Reverend Kent Wilson officiating. Musical selections, "This World Is Not My Home" and "Precious Memories" will be provided by her great-granddaughters, Kathy Walker and Gina Lawson who will be accompanied by Frankie Williams. Interment wioo follow the service at Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville, MO.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Fred Smith, David Rummerfield, Aaron Rummerfield, Roger Fox, Bruce Wilson and Douglas Rummerfield. Honorary bearers will be grandsons, Josh Rummerfield, Dale Rummerfield, Jeff Rummerfield, Bob Rummerfield, Larry K. Fox and Howard Hubbard.
