PELUCCA, Rose Marie
Born on Nov. 21, 1926, in Seminole, Okla., to Albert and Pearl (Jones) Rumley, she passed away peacefully in Sacramento, Calif., on Dec. 31, 2008. Beloved wife of 54-1/2 years to Peter Pelucca, who preceded her in death in 2001. Survived by their loving children Mike, Kathie Giarmona (Ron), Pat (Debbie), Brian, and Chris (Peggy), 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, beloved sister Mary Lee Day of Rockford, Tenn., sister-in-law and brother-in-law Maxine and Verl Tanner, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews and nieces. During the Dust Bowl era, Rose's family moved out west and eventually made Modesto their home. While attending Modesto High, Rose started working in McVay Law Office and discovered her passion - legal secretary - which she pursued (and for which she won many awards) after graduating. She met the love of her life, Pete, on a blind date, which led only months later to their marriage in 1946. They moved their family to Sacramento in late 1959. In 1989, Rose and Pete retired. After having raised their family, their honeymoon resumed. They travelled to every state in our country - and into Canada - to the Caribbean, and to Mexico. Our grief is tremendous in the loss of our parents - our joy is even greater in their reunion in Heaven. Their love story continues. A memorial service will be held at Liberty Towers Church, 5132 Elkhorn Blvd., at 11:00 a.m. on Feb. 6. Burial at Sac Valley V.A. National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, at 2:30 p.m. Celebration of life and dinner at Elk's Lodge #6, 6446 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, following graveside services.
