Mrs. Elvira Degitz, 79, of 1023 South Twenty-second died Monday
afternoon at 2:55 in Blessing Hospital, where she had been a patient
Mrs. Degitz was born in Quincy, Feb.. 3, 1888, a daughter of
Frederick and Louise Doht Rueter. She was married Nov. 23, 1910, in
Quincy to Robert Theodore Degitz. He died Aug. 23, 1943. Mrs. Degitz
was a member of Salem Evangelican United Church of Christ and the Women's
Guild of the church. She was also a member of Alpha Chapter, Order of
Eastern Star, and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Milton (Melva) Kalmer, with whom she
made her home, and a sister, Mrs. Lilly Marshall of Payson. She was also
preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Herbert Rueter, and a
sister, Mrs. Edith Dingerson.
Service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in the
Zehender-Robinson-Stormer Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward L. Kohlman
officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
