Services for Lilly Kampert, 91, of Farimont, formerly of Lake Minnewawa, MN, will be 10:30 a.m. Wed., Aug. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.

Lilly passed away Fri. evening, Aug. 22, 2008, at the Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center in Fairmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lilly C. Kampert was born on July 9, 1917, in Wilbert, Martin County, MN, the daughter of William and Bertha (Heseman) Rueter. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert. Lilly attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, District 79, and was a graduate of Ceylon High School class of 1936. In 1941, she was united in marriage to V.A. "Bill" Kampert. They farmed in Martin County until 1964. In 1980 they moved to Lake Minnewawa. Bill passed away in December of 1986. She wintered in Florida with her daughter for several years and in 2003, moved to Fairmont to live with her son.

Lilly was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont and was a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McGregor. She belonged to the Bible Class and was active in the LWML at both churches. Lilly also belonged to the Fairmont Travel and Study Club, Martin County Public Health Auxillary and the Welcome Progress Club.

She thoroughly enjoyed fishing, boating, feeding and watching the birds from her deck, snowmobiling until she was 80 years old, and going for a four-wheeler ride around the lake with her son on her 90th birthday.

She is survived by her son Jerome (Jerry) Kampert and Sharon (Sam) Oberman of Fairmont; daughter Virginia (Ginny Gearhart) and her husband, Dick Wallace of North Fort Myers, Fla., and their families; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mildred McAdams of Inver Grove Heights. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, V.A. "Bill" Kampert; one brother, Rev. W. H. Rueter; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and one nephew.
