Died of pancreas cancer. Mother and Grandmother and wife

Mother Minnie Blackmon served the COGIC Department of Women in many positions. She was the Chairperson of the State Workers, Chairperson of the Steering Committee, District Missionary, instituted the registration for the Northeast MI jurisdiction womens convention. For many years she was the personal assistant to Mother Mary Jane Hopkins, the jurisdictional supervisor of the Northeast MI Department of Women, (1887-1995) whom she was like a daughter to. On the national level, she was a national adjutant sister and the coordinator of the International Women's Convention Musical Ticket Committee, appointed by the late Mother Mattie McGlothen, General Supervisor and served under Mother Emma Crouch and the current General Supervisor, Mother Willie Mae Rivers.

Mother Minnie Blackmon was also the church mother of Walker Memorial Church of God in Christ and a lifelong member there until her death.

Funeral service was held at the Cathedral Conference Center, jurisdictional headquarters of Northeast Michigan Jurisdiction with Bishop P.A. Brooks, Jurisdictional Prelate of Northeast Michigan Jurisdiction as the officiant and Pastor James Moore as the eulogist.
